Impact of the Turnaround Methodology in various projects

IMPACT OF THE TURNAROUND METHODOLOGY

The School Turnaround Methodology has been implemented, and generated quantitative evidence for phase 1, phase 2, and part of phase 3;

Qualitative evidence can be seen in each of the following interventions:

  1. The Lubombo Circuit results show an attitude shift within a few hours of working with 34 schools;
  2. The results of GE UPS show an average improvement over 2 years from 45.4% (2008), to 52.8% (2009), and then to 67.5% (2010) among 14 schools;
  3. The results of GDE PPS show an average improvement over 2 years from 39.2% (2008), to 49.8% (2009), and then to 64.9% (2010) among 31 schools;
  4. The principal of JOTHS ‘took charge’ of the schools, and the downward trend has stopped;
  5. The Thales/ComChest schools are starting to show performance ‘outside their comfort zone’;
  6. Lotus high has been stabilised, and their image in the eyes of the community is slowly changing to the better;
  7. The NECT-Deloitte principals of the fresh start schools started to believe that they can ‘turnaround’ their schools, and their ‘rural’ and ‘poor’ status are mostly based on ‘the way they thinking about their situation’, and this can be changed through a different thinking process.

Quantitative evidence demonstrating impact can be seen in each of the following interventions:
